Statutory and commercial interest
Statutory or commercial (advance rate) interest on a claim, period by period, with current rates.
Which rate applies?
Absent a contractual rate, statutory interest applies. From 31 July 2026 it is 80% of the Central Bank rediscount rate, i.e. 31% a year (24% from 1 June 2024 to 30 July 2026; 9% before).
In commercial matters, default interest follows the Central Bank's short-term advance rate, set on 1 January and 1 July each year. The tool applies the rate in force on each day.
