Rent increase
New rent under the statutory cap of the 12-month CPI average for residential and commercial leases.
The statutory cap
For residential and roofed commercial leases, the increase in a renewed rental period may not exceed the change in the 12-month average CPI. If the contract sets a lower rate, that rate applies.
The applicable rate is the 12-month CPI average for the month before the new period, published by TurkStat at the start of each month. After five years, a court may set the rent based on comparable rents and equity.
